New Zealand born and raised tour operator and guide, Debbie Clarke is an out and proud lesbian. Her travel company, New Zealand Awaits, is dedicated to taking care of LGBT travelers to New Zealand. She is passionate about travel and believes traveling can provide life-changing experiences.

Debbie has lived internationally in Japan, England, Hungary, and now lives in the US for a few months of each year and New Zealand the remainder of each year – her wife is American! She has also travelled extensively through more than 35 different countries over the past few decades. Those experiences, where she stayed and lived with locals, has inspired her to create a travel company that gives her clients the opportunity to see New Zealand through the lens of a local, from the comfort of 4 and 5 star lodging. Debbie’s passion and enthusiasm for her native New Zealand is evident in the experiences she offers her clients.
